Children are warmly welcomed in St Francis Church. Toys and books are available at the back of the church, Junior Church is run for those children who would like to participate at every service apart from the Big Breakfast (1st Sunday in the month), where children are actively encouraged to participate in the service itself.
Safeguarding is a priority and all appropriate policies and procedures are in place.
KRAFTIKIDS & KRAFTITOTS
On the first Saturday morning of each month, we have a monthly craft and activity club:
- KraftiKids for children aged approximately 5 to 11
- KraftiTots - for children younger than 5
Older kids are welcome of course, with many Kraftikids when they reach 12 years of age becoming helpers or leaders.
Initally set up by two of our congregation with many years of children's work between them, we now boast 11 volunteer workers, all of whom are DBS checked, giving a very high adult:child ratio. Children between the ages of 5 - 11 are welcome, KraftiTots - those younger than 5, are welcome with their own adult in order to get the best out of the morning. We register youngsters and keep an eye out for birthdays and other significant events - all birthdays are celebrated with a birthday cake! Our activities include model making, painting, drawing, music & singing, gardening and games - both inside and outside. Some social events for KraftiKids included a 3rd birthday party, barbecue and 'Christmas' party in January, all well attended and thoroughly enjoyed.
We plan a full programme each year, new ideas and the most popular from the previous years. Our events calendar each year includes having a party themed session to celebrate our KraftiKids & Tots birthday, a trip to the seaside with families and friends and a Children’s Nativity and Christmas party which is always great fun!
